Home made Happiness

Hey Lovely folks,

My longest career stint within the QSR food industry has me, giving a special place for ๐Ÿ” burgers.

We love home cooked food, but once a while
we ofcourse order in. And my hubby being a bigger fan of my ex-company food, burgers are, a regular feature.

My love for cooking and using leftovers had me experimenting homemade burger patties pretty often since many years (paired with store bought buns). But since the bread baking bug has hit me, I've ofcourse extended my repoitairrie to the wholesome experience of 'home made burgers' - patty and bun๐Ÿ˜Ž.

The only grouse was I had always made the fried patty burgers. Fikar not, I have resolved that too with these Grilled Chicken Burgers

They are so light to taste I could eat a couple of them easily without breaking a sweat.
If you wanna make a fun weekend project this recipe will be a hit.

RECIPE

Time Taken :  30 mins of grilling & assembly (2 hours marination time recommended)

Yield : 6 medium sized burger patty's

Method :

1) You need about 300 gms chicken mince

2) Marinate mince with 2 tsp mayo, 1 tsp garlic paste or finely chopped garlic, 1tsp paprika/ chilli pd, 1tsp cumin pd, 1tspx pepper pd,  Half lemon zest & juice, finely chopped parsley or coriander, salt.

3) Let it marinate for 3 to 4 hours. Add 2tbsp fresh bread crumbs to bind it.

4) Moisten your palms with water and then take a lemon sized portion of the meat. Flatten it and shape it circular; make a palm sized 3/4 cm thick patty.

5) In a shallow pan or grill pan, add a tbsp of oil. Add the chicken patties and let it cook for a 3-4 mins on low flame and covered. Then raise the flame heat and let them get a bit of the brown charring without drying them out completely.

6) Cook as many patties you need and store the rest mixture for later.

7) To assemble the burger: you need burger buns (homemade or store-bought) , sliced onions, lettuce, honey-mustard mayo (I made my own using plain mayo 1/4 cup, 1tbsp hot mustard and 1tsp honey)

8) Toast the buns, add mayo on both sides, place onions on the crown side and lettuce on the heel side of the bun place the grilled chicken patty and bring both sides together.

These burgers are the right amount of juicy with the lightness of chicken meat. Serve them with homemade chunky fries or a fresh salad or boiled corn-on-cob. I had made a batch of chicken poppers so it went well these burgers too.

If I am packing these for lunchbox I even wrap them in sandwich or wax paper for the perfect store burger experience ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Cheers!!!
