Happy Valentine's Day!💘 A day when fluttery feelings float in your belly.
Before marriage those feelings signify the bubbling💝 love that tints all things rosy. After marriage I firmly believe it's indigestion😂. Oh, not from food related issues but gagging on the lovey-dovey messages you see floating everywhere😉.
Look, I'm not averse to receiving TLC on Valentine's day, but when your hubby is the type who says "on Valentine's day the best gift I can give you is my 💓" .🤨. One can' t help turn cynical. #sourgrapes😅
Well whether you are single, in a relationship or married, you must indulge in self love 🤗🌹 on such occasions. For me self love is books and food!!😋
My current read is Sir Alex Ferguson's autobiography (a book about my fav sport is 😻). For food since it's the day of love and I am not a big fan of the popular chocolates, I don't mind a large helping of this Choco-Walnut Fudge.
RECIPE
Time Taken : 15 mins
Yield : 4 servings
Method:
1) Assemble the following - 1/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened), 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, 2 tbsp walnut powder, 1/2 cup condensed milk, 3 tbsp butter unsalted, 2 tbsp sugar, few drops of vanilla essence and 50 gms khoya or mava.
2) In a non-stick pan, add the condensed milk heat gently on low flame.
3) Add the butter let it start melting.
4) Add sugar, coco pd, walnut pd, and vanilla essence; mix well and cook on a low flame, stirring continuously.
5) In a 3 to 5 mins the butter will start leaving sides and the mixture thicken.
6) Shut the flame and remove from the stove, and add the mava and chopped walnuts. Mix well.
7) Transfer to a greased plate or bowl and let it cool.
8) Serve the chocolate walnut fudge lightly warm or cool completely and enjoy. It stays in room temperature for a day, post which store in fridge.
This is the easiest way to impress a Mumbaikar 🤩on any day if you like. And the quick assembly is perfect for novices who wanna impress their significant 🥰other.
